Do you want to learn more about local land use planning processes in Sacramento? ECOS is hosting a one-day workshop on local land use planning processes.  The workshop will provide insight into the processes that development proposals go through locally to get approved.  If a developer wants to build a project, what approvals are needed?  How does the process differ depending on where a project is located or on the size or type of project?  Many people who want to participate in local planning processes are unsure when and how to do so to have the greatest impact.  This workshop will answer these questions.

Speakers / Topics include:

  • Eric Davis, Land Use Attorney - An Overview of Local Planning Processes and their Relationship to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and Other Laws and Regulations

  • Michael Notestine, Planner, Mogavero Notestine Associates - City of Sacramento Planning Commission and City Council Planning Processes

  • Tricia Stevens, Principal Planner, County of Sacramento Planning & Community Development Department - County of Sacramento Planning Processes

  • Peter Detwiler, Staff Director, CA State Senate Committee on Local Government - County of Sacramento Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) Planning Processes
