Initiative Outcomes and Products

Healthy Youth/Healthy Regions will produce a range of products to share the research methods, analysis and recommendations to a broad set of audiences.

  • A public, online, interactive information system that makes accsssible all of the data collected in the project and supports longitudinal studies to track the region's progress on youth well-being over time.

  • An online atlas of maps of the Sacramento Capital Region illustrating the spatial and socio-demographic distribution of youth outcomes and inputs in the domains of education, health, employment, civic engagement and the built environment.

  • A series of issues and policy briefs, and reports documenting the methods, findings, analysis and implications of the research written for policy, foundation and nonprofit audiences.

  • A set of youth media products in which young people explore and document their experiences growing up in the region and what would make the region more supportive of their needs and aspirations.

  • A web-based youth story map to archive and update youth media pieces.

  • A "tool kit" to facilitate regional youth-serving organization's engagement of youth in media production in subsequent years.

  • A series of articles in scholarly journals to contribute to the fields of youth development and youth policy, regional planning, public health and epidemiology, human geography, environmental design, sociology and other disciplines.
