California Civic Engagement Project (CCEP)
The
California Civic Engagement Project is a new data repository and
research initiative for the Sacramento Capital Region
and the state of California. The CCEP seeks to
address the limited quality and quantity of publicly available civic engagement
data. Its mission is to collect and curate civic engagement data from a broad
range of sources, making them a publicly available resource to all interested
audiences, including public officials, advocacy groups and non-partisan
organizations.
A key focus of data analysis will be identifying disparities in participation across place and population. One unique contribution of the CCEP is its analysis of California election data as presented by General Population, Latino and Asian group registered turnout and percent electorate.
The project aims to support research that explores non-traditional measures of civic engagement, particularly those that may be more likely experienced by disadvantaged or disconnected groups. The CCEP invites inquiries from interested researchers to access these data.
