Sacramento Civic Amenities
The Civic Amenities Project is an initiative of Partnership for Prosperity.
Partnership for Prosperity arose from an effort by leaders from the six counties comprising the Sacramento region (Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo, Yuba, and Sutter counties) to form a coordinated, regional economic development strategy that complements the implementation of the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) Blueprint land use and transportation plan. The Civic Amenities Project constitutes one of the five major economic development initiatives defined by the Partnership for Prosperity.
The goal of the Civic Amenities Project is to develop a strategy that assists regional leaders in creating a proactive, realistic vision for our region’s next generation of arts, culture, sports and entertainment venues, parks, museums, and other civic amenities.
In coordination with Valley Vision and the urban land consulting firm, Economic & Planning Systems, Inc., CRC is estimating potential revenues from likely public funding sources that could be generated from development in the Sacramento region to fund regional civic amenities.
CRC is completing the Civic Amenities Project Funding Study report, which will describes each public funding source and presents estimated revenues by funding source.
These public funding sources include: sales tax; hotel tax; rental car tax; food and beverage tax; entertainment tax; sin tax; parking tax; property tax; admission tax; lottery revenues; sewer and water revenues; gas tax; and General Fund revenues of jurisdictions in the Sacramento region.
