Maheen Ahmed is a senior majoring in Community and Regional Development. Throughout her undergraduate career, Maheen has been actively working with advocacy organizations in Sacramento and Washington D.C., such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations and Center for American Progress to work towards social justice at a grassroots and legislative level. She is an active leader on the UC Davis campus in the Muslim and Middle East South Asian communities. After graduating, she hopes to devote her life towards creating social change and developing communities by pursuing a career in public interest law and public policy. Maheen is working with the California Civic Engagement Project to research civic engagement issues within minority communities specifically looking at the Muslim community.
