2016 Student Intern
Center for Regional Change
As a 2016 Scholar, Nancy was recognized as the 2016 Outstanding Student Engaged Scholar. As an intern for the Center for Regional Change, Nancy served as a contributor to the Putting Youth on the Map project, where she published information the regarding the CRC’s online regional mapping tools to further empower youth advocacy efforts across California. She also worked with Sergio Cuellar, CRC’s Community Engagement Coordinator, to develop a new training module which teaches youth advocates strategic methods for communicating their advocacy messages to target stakeholders. Nancy also had the opportunity to work as a research assistant with Cassie Hartzog, Project Investigator, where she assisted with research for the Sierra Foundation, researching local priorities, assets, and challenges relating to children’s well-being in communities across the Central Valley.
