2018 Bradshaw Scholar
Center for Regional Change
Ulises Aleman completed his degree in community and regional development and pursued a minor in economics. Beginning this fall, he will enter UCLA’s Master’s program for urban and regional planning. His interests lie in transit-oriented development and egalitarian structures for housing, particularly co-operative housing models. While working as a Bradshaw Scholar with the CRC’s Faculty Director, Dr. Jonathan London, he will evaluate the integration of the California Air Resource Board’s (CARB) air quality standards negotiated between individual community organizations and CARB. Ultimately, he hopes to expand accessibility to basic needs resources for historically marginalized communities and to inform his work through community participation.
