Assemblymember Arambula Cites CRC Research
On May 25, 2018, Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula of California's 31st Assembly District and physician, cited the CRC's 2017 report "California's San Joaquin Valley: A Region and Its Children Under Stress" in an article for the Fresno Bee. The article, A Boost for 'Park Poor' San Joaquin Valley Overdue; River Proposal can Help, speaks to San Joaquin Valley residents being "severely underserved in a region that falls far behind the rate of parks per capita." The article references CRC research and in particular, that "access to parks and green space was one of the most frequently relayed concerns of residents at the community meetings where researchers identified priorities to create a more equitable region."
This report was commissioned by the San Joaquin Valley Health Fund with funding from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and Sierra Health Foundation, and conducted by the UC Davis Center for Regional Change with Cassie Hartzog, Nancy Erbstein, and Jonathan London as principal investigators.
