Bio

Anne Saltel is a 3rd year Community and Regional Development Major and Communications minor from Austin, Texas. She is passionate about sustainability and community development for climate change mitigation and community health. Her research project will research the role mental health plays in creating communities that are resilient to climate change. This includes exploring Climate Anxiety, Eco-Grief and Solastalgia and how it impacts young adults. Outside of research, Anne is a Climate Action Engagement Fellow with the UC Office of the President and UC Davis Sustainability Office, an Intern for the Sheepmowers!, an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Dr. Clare Cannon in the Department of Human Ecology, and holds the role of Vice President of Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation for the Theta Pi chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. She is excited to continue pursuing research with the career goal of becoming a professor.
